Startup Leko Labs recently (Feb 2022) raised $21 million Series A funding for its sustainably sourced wood laminate building solution which allows pre-fabrication of building walls heloing to replace up to 75% of concrete & steel in a building and build in 1/2 the time, dramatically reducing the carbon footprint of construction.
They claim that their wall system is highly insulating and can reduce heating and cooling needs by up to 87% whilst creating more commercially available floor space due to thinner wall requirements.
