2018: 4 of the world's 8 largest economies were European
2030: 3 of the world's 8 largest economies will be European
2050: Only Germany will remain in world's top 8 largest economies
By 2030 China is expected to surpass the USA to become the world's largest economy and will be 1.8x that of the USA. Europe might shift to 3rd place having already been surpassed by China early in 2022. India is also set to grow and will constitute around 85.0% of the size of the US or EU economies.
The world economy is poised to reach a remarkable milestone in 2022: Total annual GDP will soar past $100 trillion for the first time, two years earlier than previously forecast, according to the latest projections by London-based economic consulting firm CEBR. Perhaps even more notable is that total GDP is predicted to then double to $200 trillion by 2035.
Another source suggests that the global economy will double in size and reach 256.1 trillion in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) at purchasing power parity (PPP) in 2030.
