Unification

By: Przemysław Kaliński

1. Use the excess heat from the cooling process for comfort heating, hot tap water, process heating or even for selling to the grid.

2. Combining cooling, freezing, air-con, heating, PV & energy storage (hot water or electricity) into one system.

One such startup doing that is Harvest Thermal, a Silicon Valley startup, is disrupting the home heating market with its unique dual heat pump. The Harvest Pod, a device that heats both air and water, is expected to dramatically reduce carbon emissions and energy costs by cleverly shifting electricity use based on grid availability. With embedded AI for optimizing operations and a design reducing expensive grid upgrades, the system aligns well with California's time-of-use rates. As the company trials its innovation with Peninsula Clean Energy, it marks an exciting leap towards a more sustainable, all-electric future for home heating.
