According to the International Energy Agency, the highest heat pump penetration is in Europe's coldest countries with the best insulation: 60% of Norway's buildings are fitted with a heat pump, followed by Sweden at 43% and Finland at 41%.Heat pump sales in Germany have seen significant growth over recent years with a market growth of 53% last year, driven by govt rebate scheme offering upto 40% of purchase and installation costs, but that is still only 4% of the buildings and in UK, just over 1% of the buildings have heat pumps installed, though the number is growing.Supply shortages and lack of trained technicians have been a challenge, leading to waiting times of up to 10 months for new heat pumps to be installed.
